whatsmyname

whatsmyname -u <username>

Search for a username across more than 400 sites with whatsmyname, using the project's URL database to map the user's presence.

Run it in the OSINT phase when you want a broad username sweep: whatsmyname queries the sites in its database (more than 400, the profile URL formats) and reports existing profiles — with the URL of each one. It's the search tool with the reference URL database (from WebBreacher's whatsmyname project): broad coverage of sites. In reconnaissance, whatsmyname gives the username's presence across the largest number of sites — the surface for phishing and enumeration.

Don't use it as verification: the URL database (profile formats) is maintained by the community — broken formats and new sites generate false negatives; findings must be verified. The sweep of 400+ sites generates traffic (and some block): space it out and use with care. And note: the tool queries sites with the URL format — sites with protection (captcha) fail. For response accuracy, use socialscan; whatsmyname for broad coverage.
